This wedding started with a Catholic mass and a beer run on the way; which is as honest a summary of Mallory and Richard as I can offer. Portraits at Chautauqua Park with the Flatirons in frame, then a rooftop cocktail hour at the Limelight, then the largest reception that venue had hosted to that point. Music ran through the entire day, which made sense the moment you understood that Mallory is a DJ. She played her own set to close the night.
Friends from Chicago, friends from Michigan, people who had relocated to Colorado and people who had come out to visit, the room had the kind of density that happens when two people have genuinely collected good people across their whole lives. Boulder held this wedding well. The Limelight is a beautiful building. But the night belonged to them.
