Ginger and Thomas are Colorado people now, but this wedding was always going to be in California. Because that is where both families are, where the roots actually run. Mountain Terrace sits among redwoods in Woodside, and there is nothing quite like shooting a wedding in that particular filtered light, that scale of tree, that specific quiet. What made this day distinct was who was in the room.

These are friends I have built time with. Watching people I know become married to each other, surrounded by other people I have come to know through them, is a different experience than a first meeting on a wedding day. Ginger and Thomas have a balance I find rare - genuinely calm, genuinely silly, and completely at ease with each other. That showed in every frame.
