Denver, Colorado

Mackenzie and Will are Michigan transplants, which meant we had an easy connection before I even brought a camera around them. We started the evening at a cocktail bar in Union Station; their kind of place, unhurried and well-made, and moved through the neighborhood as the light shifted. Then we went back to their house, because any honest portrait of these two had to include Rocky (their pup). Will tends plants the way some people tend relationships: with quiet, consistent care. That came through. The session ran long, the way mine tend to. That is not an accident. I do not prefer to meet a couple for the first time on their wedding day. This is how I prevent that.
